The Sutton Coldfield Muslim Association (SCMA) is responsible for the Sutton Coldfield Mosque, the first to be established in the town of Sutton Coldfield. The town is proud of its inclusiveness of all faiths, with the mosque being part of the multi faith forums that hold open events to share common beliefs and values for the benefits of all residents across faiths.
The mosque caters for all Muslims from all backgrounds as we work to establish the SCMA as a hub of the community. Our goal is to serve the people and become a place where they come to meet and share in different activities as well as partake in prayer.
The working committee comprises of trustees and other committee members, including the Chair, General Secretary and Treasurer. These are democratically elected seats contested from within the Sutton Coldfield community. The working committee have also set up sub committees to oversee the running of the different functions, including services, legal, health & safety and estates & facilities.
The community is proud to have elected the first Muslim woman to be the Chair of the Association in 2016, who became one of the first women in the country to take up such a position; proving the progressive nature of the community and the high status of women in Islam.
SCMA, our committee members and trustees are proud to serve the community and are looking forward to helping making positive changes to those who interact with the mosque.
